Power House Wraps with spicy sweet potato, quinoa and avocado

What do you eat for breakfast? And lunch? Being a proper Dutchie I have would have to guess bread. We have been buried in bread all our lives. Boring! I know it is a real staple food and we eat it mostly for breakfast and lunch. But I never really liked it. Certainly not the Dutch way anyway. We always had one sweet and one savoury. And can choose from jam, chocolate sprinkles, peanut butter or for the sweet one and cheese, ham, luncheon meat or any other meat you can find in the "vleeswaren"-corner at the grocery store. There isn't even a proper translation for vleeswaren. Meats as google translates it, doesn't begin to cover the wide variety of meats that are especially there for your sandwich.

Mashed avocado chickpea salad with feta and coriander

Slowly waking up from my state of hibernation. Spring is in the air, however faint. I can feel it in my bones, it's coming. I can even sense a change in my food preferences. I have been stuffing myself with warming food, like soups, warm root veg salads and stews, during winter. Even warm breakfasts like these pancakes or oatmeal to keep my body warm to the bones. I now feel I am craving more freshness in my meals. Last week I catered for the open day of my yoga studio and offered the visitors a lovely smoothie to taste. The tang and the cool of the frozen fruit was refreshing, it left the tastebuds yearning for more. And as spring is nearing, fresh produce will arrive soon, yay!
